Butter Cookies


2 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 🌾

1 cup unsalted butter, softened 🧈

3/4 cup granulated sugar 🍚

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.

Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a disk. Wrap them in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out one of the dough disks to about 1/4-inch thickness.

Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes and transfer them to the prepared baking sheet.

Decorate the cookies with colorful sprinkles.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
